WHEREAS, a recent nomination by a commissioner on the Historic District Landmark Commission (“HDLC”) for properties in the Lake Vista Subdivision caused an overwhelming amount of Lake Vista residents to urge the City Council to take action because they were not given an opportunity to review the nomination prior to its introduction; therefore, they request that the nomination be withdrawn so that they could review the nomination and have a say-so in the matter;

BE IT MOVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS that Historic District Landmark Commission (“HDLC”) is hereby requested to withdraw the HDLC nomination for all parcels of land located in the Lake Vista Subdivision.

THE FOREGOING MOTION WAS READ IN FULL, THE ROLL WAS CALLED ON THE ADOPTION THEREOF AND RESULTED AS FOLLOWS:

BE IT MOVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS that the City Planning Commission is hereby directed and authorized to conduct a public hearing to consider an amendment to Article 18 of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance No. 4264, M.C.S., as amended, to establish an Interim Zoning District (“IZD”) for lots zoned RM-2 Multi-Family Residential District bounded by Lakeshore Drive on the south, Robert E. Lee Boulevard on the north, West End Boulevard on the east and Paris Avenue on the west to prohibit the issuance of permits for structures higher than 45 feet.
