Dear Lake Vista Neighbors:
I would like to thank everyone for sending me their pictures however,
I have received far too many photos to post on the Lake Vista website.
So, I have set up a Yahoo Group for the posting of pictures to a centralized
website. This Yahoo Group is an excellent way for you to easily upload
your photos and share them with your friends, family and neighbors.
The Yahoo Group can be found at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LVphotos/
You must have a Yahoo account to join the group and post pictures but
this account is free and extremely easy to set up. If you do not have
a Yahoo account go to: http://mail.yahoo.com/
and follow the registration instructions. If you have any technical difficulties
feel free to contact me at KeithZibilich@lakevistapropertyowners.com.
Keep up the faith! I know it seems hopeless at times but we will rebuild
our community and our former lives.

Dear Lake Vista Residents:
I just spoke to both Holly Callia and NOPD Sergeant Donovan Livaccari
and Holly has authorized Donovan to dispatch (2) NOPD police officers
to Lake Vista on temporary basis. As many of you know, Donovan is one
of our neighbors who lives on Hawk Street and has committed to personally
choose and place these officers for this detail. This security coverage
will begin tomorrow at 7:00AM and will consist of 24 hours per day security
patrols until such time we feel confident that our community is adequately
protected by a local or federal law enforcement agencies. The cost for
this security patrol will be $2,400 per day and the LVPOA asks that the
community contribute to cover these expenses. The LVPOA Board will aggressively
seek reimbursement from Local, State, or Federal agencies for these expenses
however; I hope we all agree that money should not be the determining
factor in this decision. If you would like to voluntarily contribute to
this cause, please send the amount you feel appropriate to:
LVOPA
c/o Patrol Fund
6524 San Felipe #387,
Houston, Texas 77057
These funds will exclusively be used for security details in Lake Vista.
No amount is too small or too large. I know I have said this before but
we will get through this and be a stronger community as a result.

Lake Vista Report, September
19, 2005 – 8:03PM
Well guys, I just returned from Lake Vista for the first time and as you
know I have posted many of the photos provided to me from residents however,
I was not prepared for the devastation both personally and community wide.
Obviously I did not have access to the Internet so, I was unable to send
any photos or reports while in New Orleans. Kimberly and I received 2
1⁄2 feet of water in the house and approximately another foot of
mold above the water line.
There are many positive things for us to be thankful for! The Mass. Nation
Guard, 181st Infantry lead by CPT. Luis Rodriguez has done an incredible
job both rescuing and assisting resident as well as protecting our property.
A house-to-house has been done and I am pleased to report to date no one
has been found deceased in Lake Vista. I spoke to CPT. Rodriguez yesterday
and he informed me that as it stands now, his unit will be stationed in
Lake Vista until October. Also, it appears that approximately 70% of Lake
Vista was spared floodwaters and although there are numerous trees down
in our community it seemed to me the majority did not fall on our homes.
There are many homes including mine which has sustained roof damage. We
owe the boys from the 181st a tremendous debit of gratitude.
As you are already aware the National Guard has been rescuing all the
stranded pet from our neighborhood and the LSPCA has done a terrific job
picking up the animals from the Guard. I have posted a pet page located
at: Lake Vista
Pets. Please take a look at the photos and if you recognize any of
the animals you should contact the LSPCA.

Lake Vista Report, September
14, 2005 -- 1:02PM
Dear Lake Vista Residents:
As you can see from the posts on the Message Board...things are looking
up. From all reports, the water has receded from Lake Vista and many residents
are returning to assess their damage. I have yet to return to my home
so, I do not have any specific instruction on the proper route to enter
Lake Vista however, the message board has numerous posts on how to maneuver
the permitting process.
Please continue to post helpful
information to the Message Board so that everyone can benefit from your
reentry experience. The message board can be found by clicking on the
message board link below.

Our neighborhood will come
through this with a few bumps and bruises but I will go on record to say,
"Will be a stronger community for the experience".

2:04PM Report
Dear Lake Vista
Neighbors:
For those of you who are reading the LVPOA Message Board, Clancy has posted
a request regarding rescuing residents in need of care from our neighborhood.
If anyone knows of a stranded resident or family member please email me
(kzibby@gmail.com) his or her address and name no later than 10:00P.M.
tonight so that Clancy may print the list and bring it with him tomorrow.
I know that we have many stranded pets, however this rescue mission is
strictly for the people who were left behind. I’m sure everyone
understands this, and greatly appreciates Clancy’s effort with his
group of volunteers. We can take up the rescue of pets once we know all
of our neighbors are safe and sound.

Dear
Neighbors:
I have received many e-mail and message about looting in Lake Vista. With
the exception of John Botto’s eyewitness report below, there has
been no reports of looting in Lake Vista. I just spoke to our neighbor
NOPD Sergeant Donovan Livaccari on the telephone. He contacted New Orleans
Levee Board Police Major Booth and he has assured us that his officers
are patrolling our community. I will continue to update everyone and I
receive new information.

Report from John Botto
September 3, 2005
“I think a resident of the Wren Street apartments was responsible
from pulling off the doors of the Lakefront Pharmacy. Somebody saw him
crawling out the hole in the metal curtain and he explained
that he was a diabetic and had to get some insulin. This happened early
Wednesday morning.”

2005 1:57AM Report
Dear Neighbors:
Listed below are the latest
pictures sent to me today by John Botto. I will continue to post as many
photos that I received from our residents in an attempt to give friends
and neighbors some peace of mind as to the conditions of our community
and their homes.
I am receiving in excess of
100 e-mail per day asking questions that I do not have answer for so,
I apologize for not responding to everyone. I promise I will continue
to post all the important information I receive from our friends and neighbors.

Dear Neighbors:
Listed below there are several
photos that were sent to me by Eric Groh who lives at 26 Spanish Fort.
As you can see the flooding is more severe the closer you get to Robert
E. Lee. It still appears from the satellite photos that at least half
of the northern section Lake Vista is completely dry. Don't give up hope!
I may be living in Houston for an extended period of time but, I guarantee
Kim and I will return to Lake Vista the community we love and rebuild
our life's.

I would like to put everyone's
mind at ease about the reliability of this LVPOA Message Board and web
site. This web server is hosted in Canada and will not go down! As an
added level of redundancy I have set up another web server in California
so, if we have an issue with the current server I will have our web site
moved over back up in a matter of minutes.
